UNSTRUCTURED PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES (UPA) from Melton Health Care Ltd
Technologies used to measure an individual's mobility can be split into two groups:
1. Sensor point technologies (ie: physically installed sensors) that require sensors which are passed or swiped by a card or other device carried by the user. These can provide a high degree of accuracy, but have the potential for higher installation and maintenance costs. They are also subject to vandalism.
2. No 'Sensor' point technologies that do not require physical sensors at specific locations. Have reduced accuracy and generally require up-loading of data via a PC and/or for the user to carry a data device or mobile phone. Have some significant additional benefits / features.
"iPersonally" systems are web-based, this allows us to use a single or combination of technologies, making "iPersonally" solutions hardware independent which ensures that our client's applications can evolve over time, increasing their functionality, widening user groups and taking advantage of new and improved technologies but in a structured and planned approach.
Our UAP Systems provide a range of features including: Mobility Reporting, Activity Planning, Health Indicators, Wellness Reporting, Social Networking, Targets & Rewards, Personalised Messaging
Example solution: www.MyAmego.co.uk - the award winning intelligent mobility & lifestyle system for people living with dementia.
Points4Life , our thoughts .......the UPA element of this project has the potential to catch the imagination of citizens, sponsors and the media as innovative yet practical and also highly accessible. Correctly executed the UPA element has the potential to act as a driver for the overall project.
The technology required to provide a minimum amount of UPA actually provides a host of additional benefits/issues which the P4L team have listed as strategic aims.
